The last week of October is a remarkable date for all Ondanian people. But not only for them, in the recent years many visitors are enjoying as well this week of celebrations dedicated to the Holy Saviour, the Virgin of Hope and Saint Roch.
For one week, joy floods the streets and the town holds a great number of events that satisfy the celebration concerns of all ages.
Yet, two of them –one religious and one secular– raise especial interest between locals. First, the Sunday Fair Procession, when Onda’s people gather in Plaza del Raval to sing together an hymn for the Holy Saviour and then, the bullfighting exhibitions, in particular, the running of the bulls and the traditional toro embolado (bulls with fire balls attached to its horns).
Both activities become the absolute focus of the crowds.
