Onda-The Pyramids – Onda

The starting point is at the 18th century mill Molí de la Reixa, which now houses the Tourist Office. Walk down Calle Cervantes towards Anna River. Across the river, at 300 meters you’ll find a direction post that separates this route and the route SL-CV 107. Go straight across a residential area to encounter the so-called "dwarf pine" along the marked trail. Continue on the path since you reach a gully area where many dry stone constructions or ‘casetas de pastor’, will show you Onda’s most recent rural past. From here on, ascend to the top of the Pyramids (Triassic old red sandstone raised formations) to admire a fascinating view of the municipality and Sierra de Espadán. From the top of the Pyramids descend to Peñas Aragonesas, declared a natural monument. It is common to hear and see many birds of prey such as hawks, falcons, little owls and tawny owls. The next section runs through the territories of La Murtera into the village. Then cross the historic Moorish Quarter towards Molí de la Reixa, where the route ends.
