Local nature reserves

Exists is a straightforward relation between Onda and nature. The town lies at the foot of the extraordinary beauty Natural Park of Sierra de Espadán, which is its main natural reference and one of the most distinguished over the region.

One thing people seem to notice and appreciate in Onda is the will to walk outdoors. Hiking is a common activity and locals usually spend their leisure time taking a long stroll through the Park. Indeed, this is a hiker's paradise that boasts a number of possible walking routes alongside its area.

In order to enjoy more directly the natural wealth of the municipality, Onda offers several hiking trails available to all. This is a great option for nature lovers wishing to explore each site of this spectacular natural environment.

The suggested itineraries are extended to the Alto Mijares area, given that Onda is its main access path.

Besides being a Contributor Information Point (CIP) of the Natural Park of Sierra Espadán, Onda’s Tourist Info Office offers a wide range of trails not only around the municipality itself but also in the villages around the Alto Mijares region. There you can find information of a variety of routes and choose between different levels of difficulty and length.

In addition to the hiking trails, Onda displays some Natural Reserves where visitors can enjoy a nice leisurely day in contact with nature, such as El Salvador, the reservoir of Sichar, L'Assut and Toll d'Ascla.
